Graduate Reception - May 19, 2019
First Lutheran Church will host on Thursday, August 1st, from 5pm to 7pm, a fundraising benefit dinner for Brian Patnode’s family. The MRHS Titans Performing Arts Boosters is the sponsor of this benefit.
Brian would have been a senior this year at MRHS. Over the July 4th weekend, Brian suffered a significant medical condition and was hospitalized until dying on July 16th. Brian was a member of the choir, madrigals, and football team. His family is on a fixed income, and all funds raised will go to the family to assist with costs during this time.
The MRHS Titans Performing Arts Boosters is providing the supplies for a spaghetti dinner, the music program students will provide dessert as well as prepare, serve and clean up from the meal. Our church is asked to provide salads. To sign-up to bring a salad, contact Courtney in the church office.
Salads should be brought to the church after 2pm on August 1st. For further information, you can contact Heide Gallagher* who will serve as a congregation liaison between the Boosters and our churc
The annual Lake Warren worship service will be held Sunday, August 11th at 10am. Worship will be preceded by a potluck breakfast starting at 9am. Bring a favorite breakfast casserole, breakfast meat, fruit, donuts, rolls, or coffee cake to share. Beverages and table service will be provided. There will be no worship at the church that Sunday, so invite your neighbors and friends to join you for breakfast and worship at the lake!
The Congregation Council will have a Special Congregational Meeting on Sunday, August 11th at 9:45 AM – after the breakfast at Lake Warren and before the worship begins. The purpose of this Special Congregational Meeting is to approve a Capital Fund Campaign. The Campaign is designed to raise $50,000 for three purposes: to replace the north steps/entry to the sanctuary, to fix or improve the two sets of sanctuary doors, and to accomplish more tuck-pointing on the sanctuary. Details for this campaign will be discussed at the meeting.
All three will resume in the fall.
