About Us

Pastor Jamie Gallagher

Pastor Jamie Gallagher came to First Lutheran Church in September 2018. Pastor Jamie has previously served in Michigan, Indiana, Iowa, and two different previous Illinois congregations. Pastor Jamie is a 2002 graduate of Trinity Lutheran Seminary, Columbus, Ohio. He has been passionate about developing faith within a family and has a strong interest in writing worship skits as well as developing new faith formation materials.

Pastor Jamie is married to Katie, who serves as pastor at Faith Lutheran Church in Wataga. Together, they have one adult daughter, Heide, one adult son, Nate, and one school-age son, Trace. The family enjoys spending time outdoors and share a common interest in Chicago and Green Bay sports teams. Pastor Jamie also enjoys model railroading and family history.

Church History

First Lutheran Church has been in its present location at 116 S B Street in Monmouth, Illinois since 1913. First Lutheran Church's Education wing was built in 1959.

We are the home of Lutheran Preschool and Day Care, and we proudly charter Scouts BSA Troop 4705 and Cub Pack 4705.
