Welcome to the Lutheran Preschool and Daycare Center, a cornerstone of early childhood education and care in the Monmouth community since its founding in 1974.
As a non-profit organization affiliated with the First Lutheran Church of Monmouth, our center provides a nurturing and high-quality environment for children to grow and learn.
We believe that all children should have the opportunity to participate in authentic learning experiences that enhance their innate love of learning.
"Our mission is to provide a safe, developmentally appropriate, nurturing environment that promotes social, emotional, cognitive and physical growth, as well as a positive self-image and a love of learning. Our experienced staff use play based learning to help build self-help skills, while providing parents peace of mind.”
You can contact the center by phone at 309-734-5350, or by email at ldckids14@gmail.com.
We can also be found on Facebook.

Our Center Director is Bobbi Nees. She received her education from Carl Sandburg, and finished it at Black Hawk College. Bobbi taught for 13 years at Bridgeway, and came here to First Lutheran just 3 years ago. She is a Teacher's Assistant in the Pre-K class in the morning. She has always loved working with children and their families to help ensure that each child has the support and resources to raise to their full potential. My husband and I have been together for almost 10 years, I have a 20 year old son, and 2 teenage step daughters. We spend our free time playing card games, and Pickleball.

Hi. I’m Tosha Terwilliger. I’m a mom to two amazing girls, ages 15 and 11, who keep me busy with basketball and softball. I’ve been worship with children of all ages for over 20 years, and for more than 10 of those years I have focused on preschool-aged kids – a stage I truly love for its curiosity, growth, and joy.
As lead Preschool Teacher & Assistant Director at Lutheran Preschool and Daycare, I want my classroom to be a place where kids genuinely enjoy coming every day. I focus on creating a safe, structured, and fun environment that helps them learn, grow, and feel excited to be part of the community. At the heart of everything I do is passion for kids, families, and teamwork – and finding practical ways to support the people around me.

Ms. Terry Taylor is one of our School-Age teachers. Ms Terry had worked for the Monmouth-Roseville School District for over 20 years. As a paraprofessional at Lincoln School, she is a familiar face to many of our students upon arrival. She has 4 children, who are all grown with families of their own. All 4 of her children attended preschool here at Lutheran. In her free time she enjoys reading and spending time with friends and family.
